Design Approach
The Odakule Passage project by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry is based on two main objectives: enhancing the spatial quality of the passage both functionally and aesthetically, and giving it a strong symbolic identity.
The project addresses these goals through a contemporary mega-sculpture that spans the entire space. This sculpture not only defines the space but also transforms it into a sculptural environment. In doing so, the project becomes an example of hybrid and integrated production, where urban design and contemporary art merge.
It creates a narrative in which spatial design and artistic expression generate and reinforce one another.
Designed as a freestanding monoblock, the sculpture is precisely embedded within the limited volume of the passage, meeting all functional requirements of the space. Its integration into the architecture can be described as a jewellike precision.
